Montezuma Well, a detached unit of Montezuma Castle National Monument, is a natural limestone sinkhole located 11 miles (18 km) northeast of Montezuma Castle, in Rimrock. These two National Monuments give us a glimpse in to the history and life of the Verde Valley.

In addtion to our local cultural sites, Camp Verde is home to the Verde Valley Archaelogy Center and Museum. Their mission is to preserve archaeological sites and collections, to curate collections locally and to make them available for research and education. And, the Verde Valley is home to petroglyph walls at Crane Petroglyph Heritage Site and the cliff houses of Honanki and Palatki.
