VIP – Reception
I did not care for the venue and food of the VIP reception. I felt like I was in a cave and the acoustics were horrible. It would have been better outside around the perimiter of the Hippodrome. The food would have made a significant impact if it was locally produced in alignment with the concept of the environmental film fest. Next year it would be great to feature restaurants and caterers who use local farmers for their produce and other restaurant needs. I think it would be nice to have a stronger community involvement so we all know what we can do to support our county and state on an environmental level. It would also be beneficial to get the Alachua County School System involved for the next festival. Wisdom often comes out of the mouth of babes. There could be a competition of locally produced enviromental films from the schools. I’m not sure how much of a presense you had at all the local Farmers markets, but maybe next year volunteers can set up information tables a month preceding the next event.
I enjoyed the event and I look forward to an even bigger and better one next year.
PS – Don’t hand out stainless steel water bottles from GRU produced in China.
